King Nasri takes control:Arsenal-Fulham ratings.

King Nasri

Fabianski: Had a decent game. Could not be faulted with the goal but had some nervy moments from crosses. 6.5

Sagna: Had a solid game at the back. Combined well with Nasri to devastating effect. Almost had an assist with a perfect cross to Chamakh. 7

Koscielny: Was having a good match before he clashed with Squillaci. It was so sad to see him stretchered off. Let’s hope he returns soon. 6

Squillaci: Did not perform badly. Went about his job quietly and led the younger defenders very well. 6

Clichy: Great performance from the much criticized Frenchman. Made a couple of interceptions and some nice deliveries. 7

Song: Did not light up the Emirates today but did his job effectively. He needs to work on his positioning though, his main priority should be not to let the opposition score. 7

Wilshere: I was very impressed with Jackie in this game. He seems to relish the battles on the pitch and took great care of himself. He was everywhere today and delivered a classy performance until he was substituted. 7.5

Rosicky: Not his best of games. He needs to relax things a bit and take his time. Other than that, he had a good game. 7

Arshavin: Okay, he did not have the kind of performance he had last week; but hey, he has yet another assist to his name. He battled well a times and he always seemed capable of doing something special whenever he had the ball. 8

Nasri: Words cannot describe how I feel about his performance. Just when everyone seems agitated, he draws out composure from nowhere. Took his two goals majestically. He’s having his best season yet. Don’t bet against him winning the PFA footballer of the year award. 9

Chamakh: Average game by all standards. He needs to reminded that he’s the striker and we look to him for goals, not assists. Yes, he puts in a lot of efforts, but he needs to learn to be decisive in the box rather than look to pass to a midfielder outside the box. 7

Djourou: Looked uncomfortable most times. Had a couple of misplaced headers and almost put one past his keeper. He played a big part in our late resistance though. 6

Walcott: Made no meaningful contribution to the game. Wasted the ball whenever he had the chance. Really poor cameo. 4

Robin Van Persie: He can lay claim to the assist for Nasri’s second but he did not do too much. He’ll need a run of games to get him back to past form. Good to have him back though. 6

So it’s 3 points, and we are on top of the Premier League table thanks to a Chelsea draw. We are in the semi finals of the Carling Cup and top of the League. What more can you ask for?

Arsenal Vs Fulham : Pre-Match Preview

Well the Carlin Cup is done and dusted, a semi-final match against Ipswich town is our reward and sorry but I don’t see an upset of ANY sort. With that said we welcome Fulham to the Ems for the small matter of a local derby.

Another game and, hopefully, another three points. However, with our home form, it REMAINS, until the end of 90mins. But here’s an interesting statistic which should give ANY gooner hope, Fulham have never, at any point, won away to Arsenal, not even drawn now tell me that doesn’t make you smile.

Anyhoo, AW has categorically said Almunia ‘will play no part’ in today’s fixture, other absentees are Cesc and TV5. Nasri shrugged off an injury to the knee and seems fit to play, I wonder if he’ll start. Squillaci too has shaken off a knock and will most likely take his place.

I also wonder if Chammy and RVP will get the nod to start considering RVP’s good showing mid-week meaning a switch in formation to 4-4-2, which I for one would love to see. AW has rubbished reports that they can’t play together by saying

We can play Chamakh and Van Persie together,” he said. “We can play Chamakh up front and Van Persie behind.”

Fulham are drawing dangerously close to the bottom of the table so by no means will this be easy, in fact I think it’s likely to be a workmanlike victory, like I care,as long as we win.

Possible Line-Up: 4-4-1-1: Fabianski-Sagna-Squillaci-Djorou-Clichy-Nasri-Wilshere-Song-Arsh-RVP-Chammy

Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Fulham
