Oxo For England | Theo To Hit 25 | Mega Tour Lined Up For Summer

Some of us are still replaying all 7 goals from the game against Blackburn while some are just happy about certain individual performances. I’m part of both parties.

Word in the press is that Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to be included in the England squad for the friendly against Holland coming up soon and if I must say, he’s earned it even if its a short time. Its not like the other left sided wingers in the country have done better than him, infact the only legit two(Ashley Young & Downing) are not fit & misfiring respectively so why not.

For all of Oxo’s dazzling displays and being put alongside household names such as Rooney & RVP when they were 18, the latter has warned for the fans not to over expect a lot from the lad and just continue to praise him whenever he performs. We don’t want a burn out & another Wilshere surely.

One thing I’m looking forward to is when Gervinho returns, will Oxo get dropped or will he be paired with Gervinho with Walcott coming off the bench with pace to burn against tiring full backs?

THEO WALCOTT
Arsenal skipper reckons that soon enough Walcott is going to add a lot of goals to his repertoire saying missed chances which he’s often blamed for is all part of his game and if he, Messi & Cristiano can conjure up misses then surely Theo is part of the bunch.

I agree with RVP but for now let’s keep Theo on the wings, he won’t always shine all the time but on his day, not one defender can stop him(Barcelona and the entire San Siro, Maldini included can testify to that) besides he’s still only 22, let’s remember that.

SUMMER TOURS
When it was revealed yesterday by the Guardian that Arsenal are planning money-spinning tours to play games in Seoul, Hong Kong & Beijing to add to that of the tour in Nigeria, it became all to clear the only reason why we bought Chu Yung Park. One would have expected him to come off the bench during the game as we had won but instead he remained on the bench. Will he ever start a league game for Arsenal? Will he ever come off the bench for more than 5 minutes? At this rate, no. His agent has come out to say if he doesn’t play he’ll seek a move in the summer which means we’re likely to lose him & Chamakh. Great.

If something new comes up during the week before our next game, rest assured we’ll report it to you, till then its goodbye & have a lovely week. Cheers.

3 Points Key As Arsenal Fans Plan Protest: Blackburn Preview

Its becoming rather disgusting how Wenger confidently continues to “act a fool” and keep a straight face amidst all his failings. If its not starting Ramsey every game, its giving Theo 90 minutes & bringing on subs when the game is all but lost/drawn. Some fans, if I could, most have given up, some have even gone as far as hoping we fail to make Europe at all come end of season(I’m in this bracket, let’s face it, RVP staying might not happen) as it might guarantee changes come summer.

Not in a long time, probably since the 2005/2006 season has 3 points been more needed, its what the team needs, that boost & we need to do it emphatically & the opponents tomorrow are not going to make that easy. Blackburn come to the Emirates in a mixed form just like us and would have taken encouragement from Bolton’s performance but I HOPE we’ve learnt from that game & get all 3 points.

Word is due to the unrest amongst fans, a bin-bag-protest is going to happen, I have no idea how that works but its a protest. If #OccupyWallStreet & #OccupyNigeria could work to some extent then surely we the Arsenal could make our voices heard, albeit peacefully(before or after and NOT during the game). Let’s get behind the lads and aim your discontent at the board.

TEAM NEWS
Looks like there won’t be any change(s) to the team that started against Bolton, even though everyone wants to see Ramsey & Walcott dropped, I don’t see it happening. No idea if Chamakh would be back in time for the tie so the bench should remain the same. What I’d love to see is 4-4-2, the midfield comprising of Oxo-Song-Arteta-Rosicky with RVP & Henry/Park upfront.

We NEED to & MUST win this game, if we had taken all our chances we should be way ahead of Chelsea instead we’re still within touching distance, so here’s hoping the ones ahead of us slip this weekend because its really sad to see Spurs doing so well even though they haven’t had the misfortune of injuries of other clubs but I’m not using that as an excuse.

3 points key and that could lift the gloom around the club even if its temporarily. From wherever you’re reading, have a swell day. See you in the comments.

Arsenal vs Stoke : Match Preview

One of our bogey teams visits the grove today, with Stoke doing well in the top 5 of the of the table and us on the second page of the table in 11th position, a win is very much needed. But have no fears, Delap or not, Arsenal have never lost to Stoke at home, at least not in this modern era. Their bogeyness only works at the Brittania.

We are a team on ascendancy and what better way to stamp that than beat a team that has always been a thorn in our sides and then that Ramsey incident. I must say, with Stoke’s approach to the game I fear for Van Persie but they should be more worried about our own attacking threat.

Bar RVP, our attackers have been poor in recent weeks and the one actually banging in the goals(Oxlade-Chamberlain) continues to languish on the bench. Our exotic number 9 hasn’t played a premier league minute, nott one and Chamakh continues to come in and go out of the squad entirely.

For this game, I’d gladly take a 1-0 victory but we’re at home so I say go for the jugular and kill them off, give the lads a morale boosting win a la Sunderland. I expect the defence to continue their impressive play from the last two games and hopefully see Park play today.

Possible Line-Up: Szczesny-Djourou-Koscielny-Mertesacker-Santos-Song-Arteta-Ramsey-Gervinho-Walcott-RVP

Prediction : Arsenal 3:1 Stoke

Cheers!

Oxlade-Chamberlain Scores Hattrick || Wenger & Gazidis are Idiots

Feed The Ox & He’ll Score, this seems to be catching on fast with the gooner faithful, and why won’t it, with 5 goals in three competitive games, Arsenal may have hit jackpot with young Alex. He was the star performer yesterday night for the England U-21’s as he scored a treble.

The first was after he collected the ball in the midfield, embarked on a solo run beforea finishing beyond the Icelandic goalkeeper. The second came after a gaffe by the goalkeeper who could only parry it into his path for the easiest goal he might score this season. The third was brilliant as he received the ball on the wings, went past four challenges and buried it. We all know Capello is looking at him already so we could see him in the senior set up before long.

Ivan Gazidis
This man here is an idiot, and I have no idea why he’s still at the club. Yes I’m angry and with good reason. We’ve gone from a club that aims for Champions league qualification every season and then sell off our best players to a club struggling to hold on to the remaining players, struggling to put up a run of wins this season, only to have the man blurt out yesterday that the club can afford to miss out on Europe for one season. You can read about it here Guardian

How can a top club where fans pay top money to see the team play well and give them good value for their money say such. Since when did we become Liverpool & Tottenham, underachievers?? How did we go from Invincibles to Shambolic and poor?? This madness would continue until Wenger and the board with Gazidis are gone. Usmanov might not be the answer but surely he can’t be as useless as Kroenke has been so far

Look at Man United, that’s a great club with great expectations every season, to win it all and be the best at whatever cost. They’re in so much debt yet they spend & they win like there’s no tomorrow and keep getting sponsorship deals that are mindblowing, little why they’re the second most valuable sports franchise in the world. Right now I’d take Usmanov and his money and his well renowned business expertise and turn this sinking ship around before its too late.

The international games are tonight, let’s hope all our players come through them unscathed and hopefully pick up some form. Do have a swell day.

Arsenal Vs Olympiakos : The Player Ratings

From the onset we looked likely to run riot over the Greek team with early goals from UCL home debutants AOC & Santos both scoring only for schoolboy defending again to undo us as they pulled one back. It ended that way. Here are the ratings.

Szczesny7
Conceded a goal but was totally dominant and pulled off back to back saves to keep us in the tie. Needs to stay on his line more.

Sagna 5
Very poor showing. For a minute there I thought Justin Hoyte was back in an Arsenal shirt.

Mertesacker 8
He was solid at the back, even though he played with Song, won all aerial balls, cleared the ball into safety on more than one occasion. Was no where for the goal.

Song6.5
Was found wanting a couple of times and got no protection from Frimpong. Got the assist for the opener with a delightful pass.

Santos7
He got his first goal on his home debut. Was a menace in the first 45 but needs to learn to defend better. Otherwise a solid game.

Frimpong5 in the 1st half, 7 in the Second Half
Out of sorts performance from the young Ghanian, left his defence exposed time after time but got better as the game wore on.

Arteta6.5
Covered more ground than any other player on the pitch but he needs to be more adventurous. He continues to play like he’s been told not to attack.

Rosicky5
What did he do in the game? Apart from giving away a dangerous freekick and running around like a headless chicken, he was poor. Needs to go.

Arshavin4
SIGH I’m lost for words, he was anonymous in the first half, did not defend and did not contribute. Then he was selfish in the second 45. Surely he’s clock is ticking away.

Oxlade-Chamberlain7
Was our best player in the first half, showed nice touches, ran well at the defence, crossed even better. Took his goal with aplomb and in so doing endeared himself to the Emirates faithful.

Chamakh5
Missed the chance to put us 3 goals up, would have gotten a 4 but for his work rate and involvement in building up play.

SUBSTITUTES

RVPN/A

Ramsey5

GibbsN/A

Man Of The Match ~ Mertesacker

There you have it, three points in the bag, but with Marseille winning, we have to settle for second position. Spurs awaits this weekend. Have a swell night.

Vermaelen Out For Two Months | Oxlade-Chamberlain hits 4 assists || Wenger Loses Appeal

Just when we were preparing to get our season back on track following the transfer deadline frenzy, we’re rocked with devastating news that our best defender is going to be out for two months following surgery on his ankle. How convenient seeing as our star midfielder Jack Wilshere is also facing similar time on the sidelines. “Oh to be a Gooner”

Oh yeah Morning to you wherever you are, hard to call it a good one seeing as I was up all night thanks to this new coloring I got which makes my right eye red(I think its called Red-Eye, we call it Apollo). Let’s move on to more important matters. Surely AW & the medical team saw this coming either that or their continued incompetence with player management has to be addressed as this is a recurring event every year since 2008 when Gary Lewin left us.

For those that have been quick to point the finger of blame at the physios, I’d have you know its entirely Wenger’s fault. Reports from inside the club are that his training methods are too rigorous and how he hardly changes them believing if you stretch the players past their limit, they’ll be fitter. Where’s the logic in that? Take Wilshere for example, the new GPS technology put in place showed last season that he was in the red zone(kinda like my eye this morning only my eye is sexier) but Wenger ignored it and continued to play him. We all know the end result of that.

I’m just glad we made those deadline deals when we did if not I’d be pissed and broken right now. We should be able to manage without them, I don’t see us going into a free fall, I expect Arteta & Ramsey to pick up gauntlet and lead from the midfield with Mertesacker and Santos at the back.

Arsene Wenger
He just lost his appeal after flaunting the rules of his touchline ban and in so doing, got a two game touchline suspension. Platini’s witch hunt against our boss continues, shame, you’d think as country men they would get along nicely.

Oxlade-Chamberlain
The wunderkid picked up from where he left off on his U21 debut(where he grabbed 2 assists) by coming off the bench and changing the game for England. They were a goal down when Stuart Pearce introduced him & Lansbury off the bench, AOC was quickly into action by providing a cross for the equalizer. He did not stop there, he provided another assist then won a penalty which was converted to make it 3-1 and like in the last game, he provided another assist for Lansbury. The kid is more than alright, I can’t wait for the Carlin Cup game against Shrewsbury to see him & Ryo.

That’s about it for now, let’s pray none of the other players on international duty pick up knocks or injuries. Till then, do have a great day wherever you are. Cheers

Oxlade-Chamberlain Brought Down For England Penalty

Oxlade-Chamberlain Brought Down For England Penalty

Jorgensen deal close + One player we should not sign.

For all the talk from Wenger at the end of last season about strengthening the defence; and Gazidis’ latest comments that we have a “substantial” amount to spend on players, we have had no action.

Just recently, managers of Cahill’s Bolton and Samba’s Blackburn deny having received an Arsenal bid. I find it hard to believe that Arsene has not shown interest in any of these players or any other top defender for that matter.

Of the two, I prefer Samba because of his no-nonsense attitude and his build. Granted, Cahill has better skills on the ball, but I believe we already have ball-playing defenders.

It’s time we signed a destroyer in the mould of United’s Nemanja Vidic. Samba also costs £12m, £5m less than Cahill. So we will be getting exactly what we need at a cheaper price.

One signing we should not even consider at this time is Oxlade-Chamberlain. At £12m, he is too expensive if he is just “the next Walcott”.

Don’t get me wrong here, Theo Walcott is a good player and he’s improving too, but I just feel we need to sort out the original Walcott before bringing in a “next Walcott”.

Also, with all the youngsters we have coming through, signing Oxlade-Chamberlain makes little sense to me. The money can be used to attend to a more pressing need, a centre back.

If reports are anything to go by, Wenger will press forward with a move for FC Copenhagen captain Mathias Jorgensen. Jorgensen, only 21, at 6 foot 3 inches is a defender who has already won titles with his side.

I have not watched him play but he looks like a bargain at £5m. A deal for him is supposedly close, but so were deals for Alvarez and Joel Campbell. Let’s hope we can tie this one, and quickly too.

Wenger has always defended our lack of transfer window activity with the state of the club’s balance sheet. I was just wondering, no one demanded £50m signings, just the right players in the right places.

To get these players we need to spend, but with the right players added, we will win trophies. Trophies in turn generate income into the club, don’t they?

Isn’t that what we all want?

That’s all from me today, Faf returns tomorrow with a preview to Saturday’s game against Cologne.

Any thoughts on signings we should and shouldn’t make, please post them below.

Arsenal vs Huddersfield : The Match Preview

The Emirates

It has been an eventful week at Arsenal with news, team selection, squad role and transfers been the major talking point. At the press conference on Friday , Arsene Wenger had a lot to tell the members of the press present.

First off was the news of returning players from injury with the likes of Squillaci Diaby and Almunia coming back to take their places in the squad for the FA Cup clash. And speaking of Almunia, Le Boss has challenged him to win his place back in the team and this was after dropping the news that Szczesny is now our number one choice between the sticks. Not in his dreams did the boy think his rise at Arsenal would be of meteoric proportions but take nothing away from his performances, he’s been great and his huge frame does our defenders a lot of good and they seem to play with ease and comfort knowing they have a solid pair of gloves behind them.

We all know Almunia’s time is up and come summer, he’ll probably be shipped away to some dead beat club. Then came the news of Carlos Vela moving on loan to West Brom for the rest of the season. This is one move I support strongly seeing as I had been praying he would go on loan when he joined us 3 years ago, and my preferred destination for him then was West Brom. It didn’t happen then but am glad it has now.

He’s too good to be on the bench and maybe a relegation threatened team might be the ideal tonic for him. I foresee a great combo of him and Nigerian Odemwinge. If only we could loan Denilson and make sure its a permanent loan away from the club. Oh well.

Moving on to the matter at hand, our opponents tomorrow, Huddersfield are third in League One and gunning for promotion under Lee Clark. They have lost only once in their last seven games and won’t be fazed by the visit to the Emirates. After all its a cup tie famous for its upsets and they’ll be hoping to get one.

Unfortunately for them, they meet an Arsenal team high on confidence and boasting an impeccable record this January. Despite playing an all time high, 8 games in January, in those eight games we have conceded just three times (all in cup competitions) and have scored 16 goals, including three in each of their last four games. So on paper, it should be a walkover for us. Yes!

Irrespective of the team we send out there, I expect a demolition job and fancy Bendtner or Chamakh to nab a brace or hat trick. This is what the team might look like.

    Chezzer

    Eboue, Squillaci, Miquel, Gibbs

    Denilson, Diaby, Wilshere

    Bendtner, Chammy29, Arshavin

Prediction : Arsenal 4-0 Huddersfield

So, the 5th round awaits us so long we avoid any nasty surprises and I’m glad Benik Afobe(Arsenal player on loan at Huddersfield) is ineligible to play. Don’t want him hitting the back of the net or causing us any problems.

From wherever you’re reading, have fun and make sure you keep an eye on Oxlade Chamberlain against Manure. I hope he scores the goal that sends them crashing out.
