First off sorry we’ve been missing for the past few days, different commitments have taken us away from you but we’re back. So here’s the latest news concerning our beloved club.
Usmanov & Kroenke
Our 2 sugar daddies have different plans for the club with the same goal in mind, to return us to greatness. Usmanov is having to do it the hard way as the board won’t give him a seat. He’s gathering shares faster than Kroenke did in a bid to get to the 30% mark which is the lucky number needed to look into our books and get a seat on the board.
And he got a further 16 shares which he purchased from Rangers owner Craig Whyte to put him within touching distance of the 30%.
BUT, Kroenke and the rest are determined not to let that happen and the American is expected in London for talks today with the board and the following are expected to be discussed.
- *Full support for Arsene Wenger to remain in charge till 2035.
*New Contracts for Van Persie & Walcott.
*£100M for Wenger to use on transfers(and possibly Wages) in the Summer.
*No Usmanov on the board because he’ll make the club better on the sporting front and we don’t want that.
I for one I’m not buying the £100M story, seeing as its time to renew season tickets & its come at a convenient period where fans are angry &seeking answers. If it were Usmanov that said it, I’d believe afterall he’s way wealthier than Kroenke.
The derby is a few days away and no news yet on Koscielny, Squillaci, Ramsey are out after picking up knocks against Sunderland, leaving Djourou & Vermaellen as our only fit CB’s.
Jenkinson is back & played 45mins for the reserves without setbacks. Talking about reserves, a host of first team players also played & shone with Arshavin grabbing 2, Park & Benayoun as well on the scoresheet.
The england team to face holland has been announced and AOC after impressing in recent weeks has been left out, yet Frazier Campell gets called up. SMH I’m not pleased but at the same time I’m happy, let him stay grounded and continue to play for us, England is not going anywhere.
That’s all for now, we’ll be back to give you the Spurs preview, till then, have a great day.

Tried to put a little spin on the headline so as not to appear overly gloomy but who am I kidding right? Going by history and the past 4 years, this month marks the beginning of the end for us. Our february form? Drawn one, won two and lost two. The two we lost came back to back.
Wenger shuffled his pack, brought in Gervinho, Coquelin & AOC for Koscielny, Gibbs and Walcott. And surprise surprise, Coq gets injured less than 20mins into the game, surely now an exorcism is needed for that left back position.
Sunderland started the game better than we did and wanted it more and it showed, we were again sloppy with our passes and not being direct enough. Our first chance came after sunderland had 3 already, RVP slipped a pass for Gervinho whose shot had to be saved & the resulting corner wasted.
The sunderland goal came in typical fashion, a set piece wasn’t cleared well and Richardson arrowed in a shot via a Squillaci deflection. 1-0 , nothing to worry about, we can do it. We did it here last week.
No repeat of such must have been O’neill’s halftime team talk because Sunderland left off where they finished the half, outplaying us, winning every 50:50 challenge and it didn’t take long for the second goal. Oxo lost the ball & chased after his attacker, Larsson shot the ball against the post, it hit Oxo and went back into the net. There was still time left for Sessegnon to pull out the party tricks on our confused & utterly shit backline. 2-0. Out of the FA Cup & out of the champions league.
Arsene Wenger is the chief culprit for this decline that happens every year, our squad is loaded with very poor players who know nothing about giving their all for the club while the decent ones like Ramsey & Walcott are not being coached well. They continue to churn out pathetic performances and no one is doing anything about it.
All this could have been avoided, he had the summer and january to rectify all but he chose against it. He said you can’t lose Nasri & Cesc and convince people that you’re a serious contender and what happened not only did he lose them, he failed to replace them.
Wenger’s failings are well documented, handing out large contracts to useless players, banking on average ones to rescue us when times are hard and failing to make any sense or headway in the transfer market. Our first choice left back can’t play back to back games and yet he’s first choice, Ramsey has been poor but can’t be benched because those behind him are worse off. Who’s fault? And please don’t blame injuries.
Part of his failings is the lack of a plan B and how poor the plan A we have is. Yesterday he could have gone with 4-4-2 and used players that haven’t seen game time in a while, the likes of Arshavin, Benayoun, Oxlade but he went with a fatigued squad to play a team that had the week off and expected to get a result.
This is the worst Arsenal as a club has been in a long time. Seven years as head in any occupation without results will get you the boot, as Fabregas said last year, Wenger would have been fired if he was at another club(league). Wenger’s position has to be reviewed come end of season.
Either he’s told to move on seeing as he can’t motivate his team anymore or move upstairs into the board or move to another club(afterall PSG & Madrid still want him). Its only a matter of time before Red & White Holdings make a statement with all the shares acquisition they’ve been doing and expect a turbulent summer especially if we don’t make champions league. I for one want the entire board gone especially that moron Gazidis & Kroenke, usher Usmanov in and watch changes happen.
No one man is bigger than any club irrespective of his achievements and its time to go for Arsene. Quality players and an owner that’s interested in the club and is actually a fan not one that’s a collector of clubs(franchises). Get rid of Squillaci, Djourou, Rosicky, Arshavin, Chamakh, Park and buy M’vila, Hazard, Gotze and Edison Cavani ( 😐 ) . Its not impossible, if wenger had acted, 2 of the four I just mentioned should be at our club already.
We’re still a top club and can still attract quality players, we just need an overhaul of personnel and ideas on ground already. Let’s know how you feel in the comments.
Arsenal started this weekend in an unfamiliar position; a side low on confidence was in dire need of a win to revive its feeble fight against another trophyless season. 6 weeks ago, Arsene was talking up our chances of winning all six titles up for grabs, this past week though, he could be heard saying that he was contented with a 2nd place finish for the next 20 years. How fast things change?
At Blackpool, with Almunia ABSENT, Mad Jens made a surprise return to the Arsenal starting 11, injured Alex Song was also replaced by Abou Diaby and Cesc played his 300th game for the club. Both teams started impressively but two quick fire goals from Diaby and Eboue made things a bit comfortable for us. We went into half time with a two goal lead.
Trust Arsenal though, our defence crumbled under pressure and Blackpool pulled one goal back. The dude who wrote the script for our amazing 4-4 draw at Newcastle seemed to have a hand in this one too, only that this time he was kinder with the ending. At 2-1, the game was in the balance, Blackpool with their vociferous fans had the momentum; they kept pushing and it was a matter of which team got the next goal. We could all see a pattern, Spurs, Newcastle… however, the trend did not continue. We managed to keep our calm and Van Persie got the all important winner. 3-1 it ended.
It felt like we had not won a game in years, the players were visibly delighted as was Arsene. The traveling fans were magnificent once again; you could see the relief on their faces and it was great news that we have started winning again. More defining news was to come later in the day though, and at boardroom level too.
On to more important news, Stan Kroenke aka Silent Stan has launched a bid to takeover our beloved club, the news broke just after the win on saturday and has so far being welcomed by almost everyone affiliated with Arsenal. I for one am highly delighted, being clamouring for Peter Hill Wood to leave the helm seeing as he had no plans or no direction whatsoever for Arsenal. Ever since the depature of David Dein, Arsenal has faltered where it matters the most which is on the sporting front but continue to be buoyed on the financial front. Oh well, good times awaits us.
I’m not going to bore you with the boring details of the whole takeover, if you want that, I encourage you to open this link to read and most likely calm whatever fears you have about a takeover. Here you go Is Stan The Man For Arsenal.
But we’ll reveal the basics which most of you would know by now. Kroenke who previously had 29.9% of the shares, moved for the 15.9% owned by Lady Bracewell-Smith and Danny Fiszman’s 17.1 to take his tally to 62.9% and it was revealed that Usmanov who has a 27% stake tried his best to prevent that, thank God he failed. And after that, Kroenke is considering going the whole 9 yards and may even make a bid for Usmanov’s stake who would rather sell off now and make profits than later on.
Becoming the 10th Premier League club to fall into foreign hands is not as bad and won’t be as bad as the others that precedes ours. Most people are not getting their hopes up seeing as this takeover is more of an evolution than a revolution, so expect changes but not wholesale. I’m glad to hear Kroenke call Wenger a fantastic manager and one which he’s planning on building Arsenal’s dynasty with and the feeling is mutual from Wenger who says the American has the club at heart. So there you have it, a union blessed in heaven. Don’t expect a transfer chest come end of season but you can expect funds to be available to purchase players and as for the pre season tour, you can expect the annual Austria trip to be replaced by a tour of the United States.
I sense good times ahead for Arsenal, and this feeling is been shared by fellow fans all around the world. Just imagine being able to compete finally on a fair ground with two or three solid signings and maybe on title next season. I’m sure you like the sound of that. We also got some good news in time for the game against Liverpool at the Emirates, Wojech Sczesney has resumed training and is pressing for a start and AW may hand it to him as he might not want to play Lehmann in back to back games, not to stop there but Johan Djourou too is in contention to start the game but that decision is up to the physios and Le Boss. No news on Song yet so it looks like we’re back to full strength just in time for the title run in which Wilshere still thinks we can win. Your thoughts?
From wherever you’re reading, have a wonderful day.
